Community service is core culture at Brian Ward & Partners. Our directors have served the following organisations:

Australian Red Cross

Our managing director Brian Ward had a 20 year association with Australian Red Cross. He retired as National Vice Chairman at the end of 2003. He served as Chairman of the Australian Bali Appeal Committee between 2002 and 2004 and was involved in many of the seismic changes to the organisation during that period. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours Awards for 2008 in recognition of his services to Australian Red Cross.

Legal Practitioner’s Liability Committee

The LPLC is statutory compulsary insurer for lawyers in Victoria. Geoff Rees joined the Committee in 2008.

University of Melbourne

Director Geoff Rees has a long-term association with the University of Melbourne. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Melbourne University Sport, the Representative Director of the University of Melbourne on Uniseed, a venture capital incubator for technology inventions produced at three of Australia’s leading universities and a Director of UMEE Limited, the commercial corporation of the University of Melbourne.

Director Malcolm Speed lectures in Sports Governance and Entities as a Senior Fellow in Sports Law at the University of Melbourne.

Director Campbell Johnston lectures on Project Finance in the Faculty of Law Master’s Program at the University of Melbourne.

Director Brian Ward is a guest lecturer on various topics on Sports Law in the Law Master’s Program at the University of Melbourne.
